Ductless Mini-split Heat Pump Overview:  Ductless Mini-Splits are smaller than central heating and air conditioning units, and they're more sophisticated having higher efficiency (SEER) values while using less energy.

1. The Mini-Split Compressor is in the outside condenser unit, which is why the system is so quiet.  The air handler also known as the evaporator unit is mounted on an inside wall or from the ceiling.  The indoor evaporator unit will make condensate, which must drain to a sink or to the outside.  The indoor and outdoor units are attached by a well-insulated line set.  The shorter the line set, the more efficiently the system will operate.
2. Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pumps rely on the same freon refrigeration cycle as regular air conditioners.
3. All ductless mini-splits are electric.  They do not consume natural gas or other fuels.
4. Unlike window air conditioners and some Conventional Heating and Cooling Systems, ductless mini-splits are usually very energy efficient.
5. Ductless Mini-split systems are very quiet.
6. Multi-zone or multi-room) Ductless Mini-split systems can condition (heat or cool) just one or all of the room zones by the push of a button further contributing to your comfortability and their efficiency.
7. Ductless Mini-split systems require a much smaller installation footprint than central HVAC units.
